We popped over to Dawlish this morning to look at the coastal barrier that is to prevent the sea doing any more damage to the railway line the runs along beside the sea between Star Cross and Teignmouth before following the estuary to Newton Abbot. What’s so special, well the Rig being used so close to the edge of town is quite a sight, apparently the only one of its kind, so a once in a life time thing!
The only place you can get a good look is from the railway station but they are not happy about that. But I’d already taken three shots before I was seen off!

Having had my marching orders I then headed up to the Path above the work to try another view and this was pictures from the other side of the platform looking down, not a great view but you get the idea.

Well after all that wandering about it was time for coffee followed by card shopping and present seeking for the last one or two Christmas gifts, Dawlish has a very good card shop just a short stroll from Cafe 1 and then there is a lovely gift shop which kept madam happy for the last twenty minutes of the parking. A lovely morning out what more do you want, and all within the Covid rules.
