A day in Monosque

Today 28th of June 2016 we had a half day coach trip to Manosque. A medieval fortified town with all of the gates to the old city still standing.  We were dropped off at  the North Gate and then walked down through the old town to the southernmost gate where we were met by the coach.  The short trip we took to the L’Occitane Factory (and all the men were keeping a close eye on their credit cards!).  It was very interesting to hear how the company was started in 1986 by one man and how it has grown into an international player in a relatively short time. The security at the perfume factory was understandable due to the amount of espionage that goes on in the industry, but I felt it bordered on the ridiculous, so much so the factory tour was  conducted about 15-20ft in the air from a covered walk way! No photographs  permitted.    Then it was back for lunch and a dip in the pool!

The last pictures are of the tour group the Driver of our coach Michel for the week and our tour guide lady Marie (who is Swiss). We have one more day at Volonne before setting off on Thursday to our next destination Largentier in the Ardeche Region
